Who they are
Cassiopeia Du Couteau was raised by her mother in manipulation and authority, and was brought into the Black Rose. She was sent to claim godly power for the group in a tomb in Shurima.
A stone serpent guardian bit her there, replacing her legs with a snake's tail and giving her venom and a gaze that turns people to stone. She now lives in Urzeris and uses her monstrous form for her own ends.
Their story belongs to Noxus and also touches Shurima. An empire that rewards strength, wherever it comes from.
Their story, step by step
- Step 1
A Du Couteau
Cassiopeia was the youngest daughter of the Noxian Du Couteau family. Her sister Katarina trained as an assassin under their father Marcus, while their mother Soreana taught Cassiopeia how to use authority and manipulate.
- Step 2
Urzeris
The family moved to Urzeris in Shurima, where Cassiopeia stayed with Soreana after the others went back to Noxus. After Soreana was poisoned through her hairbrush, the two grew closer.
- Step 3
Into the Black Rose
Soreana revealed she belonged to the Black Rose and trained her daughter as a schemer. Cassiopeia earned initiation by quietly killing those behind the poisoning.
- Step 4
The tomb
As Swain staged his coup, Soreana sent her to take godlike power from Shurima for the Black Rose. She hired the mercenary Sivir to raid the Tomb of the Forgotten and stabbed her to keep the blade.
- Step 5
The bite
A stone serpent guardian bit her, turning her legs into a snake's tail and giving her fangs, venom and a petrifying gaze. She was first devastated by losing her place, but came to embrace the new form.
- Step 6
The hunter
She now lives in Urzeris, where she hunts enemies, including a Noxian soldier she petrified and shattered in the story The Shedding of Skin.
