Who they are
Urgot was a powerful Noxian headsman until he was betrayed and sent to the Dredge, a chemtech prison mine beneath Zaun. There he replaced body parts he considered weak with machinery.
He emerged as a revolutionary in Zaun's criminal underworld, believing only the worthy survive. He aims to spread chaos to cull the unworthy and sees himself as an instrument of purification.
Their story belongs to Zaun and also touches Noxus. The smoggy undercity where unregulated science pushes back.
Their story, step by step
- Step 1
A Noxian executioner
Urgot grew up in Noxus, became a soldier and served as a high executioner. He carried out state executions and missions for the empire.
- Step 2
Swain's betrayal
As Swain climbed to power he saw Urgot as a threat. He sent Urgot to Zaun on the pretext of ending a plot against the emperor, which was a trap.
- Step 3
The Dredge
Urgot was captured and sent to the Dredge, a chemtech prison mine. Instead of breaking he replaced body parts he thought weak with machinery, including gun legs and a gun arm. He took control of the prison and killed those who refused to follow.
- Step 4
A turning moment
When a Noxian agent recognised him and begged for help, Urgot killed him. It confirmed his belief that men, not strength, ruled Noxus, and that men are weak.
- Step 5
Chaos in Zaun
He blew up the Dredge, and the survivors followed him into the Sumps, where he spread his creed through a messenger called the Voice. After an attack on a hextech tower he tested his followers with poison gas, killing many, among them a girl named Roe.
- Step 6
Captured
Vi and Caitlyn confronted his forces and imprisoned him. Vi was uneasy, saying he looked like a spider waiting in his web.
Turning points
- Being betrayed by Swain and sent to Zaun
- Taking over the Dredge
- Killing the Noxian agent who begged for help
- Testing his followers with poison gas
Where their story stands now
Urgot is imprisoned by Piltover, but his aim of spreading chaos to cull the unworthy stands. Whether he will escape and how far his influence reaches are unanswered.
Who they are tied to
Where this fits in the story
- Zaun · step 1
From port city to undercity
Zaun began as an ancient seafaring port sacred to Janna. Around 772 AN the site was drowned in a catastrophic excavation, and it was rebuilt as the undercity below Piltover.
- Zaun · step 2
Chemtech and Shimmer
Without rules, Zaun's alchemists pushed science further. Singed's Shimmer serum can enhance soldiers and also became a major illegal drug that drives the underground economy.
- Zaun · step 3
The Day of Ash and Silco
Vander and Silco led a failed uprising on the Day of Ash, and hundreds died. Silco then built a criminal empire on Shimmer until his adopted daughter Jinx killed him.
- Zaun · step 4
A fractured city
After Silco the Chembarons split, Piltover occupied the undercity, Noxus intervened and Viktor rose to prominence. Zaun is now represented in Piltover's politics, but the peace is uneasy.
