Who they are
Silco and Vander led the failed uprising of the Day of Ash, in which hundreds died. He later built a criminal empire on Shimmer, until his adopted daughter Jinx killed him.
Their story belongs to Zaun. The smoggy undercity where unregulated science pushes back.
Their story, step by step
- Step 1
Friends and a failed uprising
Silco and Vander were friends in Zaun who dreamed of freeing it from Piltover's control. Their uprising failed and hundreds died. Vander turned on Silco afterward, and Silco was left scarred by the polluted waters.
- Step 2
Building an empire
Silco gathered a criminal network, including people who had lost faith in Vander's pacifism. He brought in the scientist Singed to create Shimmer, a drug meant to strengthen Zaun's people.
- Step 3
Taking Vander's place
After Vander's death, Silco took in a young girl he renamed Jinx. He turned Vander's bar into his base and drew Zaun's chem-barons under his control.
- Step 4
Protecting Jinx
He trained Jinx and defended her even when others wanted her handed over, once gassing rebellious chem-barons to keep control. When Vi returned to Zaun, Jinx misread something she overheard from him as betrayal, and she took him captive. In the chaos, Jinx's shot killed him, and his last words to her were that she was perfect.

Silco is dead. His death left Zaun without a ruler, and Jinx carries on in his shadow, with the wider fallout still open.

Zaun began as an ancient seafaring port sacred to Janna. Around 772 AN the site was drowned in a catastrophic excavation, and it was rebuilt as the undercity below Piltover.

Without rules, Zaun's alchemists pushed science further. Singed's Shimmer serum can enhance soldiers and also became a major illegal drug that drives the underground economy.
