Who they are
Zeri is a young woman from Zaun's Entresol who was born with the power to generate and control electricity. She fights to protect her community, driven by love for her family and home.
She believes that standing up for your community means it will stand up for you.
Their story belongs to Zaun. The smoggy undercity where unregulated science pushes back.
Their story, step by step
- Step 1
From the Entresol
Zeri was born in Zaun's working-class Entresol. She has an innate ability to produce and control electricity, and she is described as headstrong and spirited.
- Step 2
Her family and her gun
Her custom rifle was designed by her mother and has no trigger or magazine, since it runs on Zeri's own power. Her parents, grandmother and aunt are mentioned but not detailed.
- Step 3
Vigilante work
She acts as a vigilante for her community. She freed hostages from a warehouse, including Ekko's parents, and became friends with Ekko.
- Step 4
Allies and doubts
Blitzcrank helped her climb a clocktower and she has pulled him out of Chem-Punk trouble more than once. She is unconvinced that Seraphine's songs can inspire real change, and she has avoided Jinx's rockets.
Turning points
- Freeing the warehouse hostages, including Ekko's parents
- Repeatedly rescuing Blitzcrank from Chem-Punks
Where their story stands now
Zeri is an active vigilante in Zaun. Riot's lore's account of her background is unfinished, so little more is stated.
Who they are tied to
- Ekko →She became Ekko's friend after freeing hostages, his parents among them, from a warehouse.
- Blitzcrank →They have had several run-ins; he helped her up a clocktower and she has saved him from Chem-Punks several times.
- Seraphine →Ekko admires Seraphine but Zeri doubts her songs are enough to change anything.
- Jinx →Zeri has dodged Jinx's rockets in past encounters.
- Renata Glasc →Zaun's wealthiest chem-baron, who rules through manipulation and business.
Where this fits in the story
- Zaun · step 1
From port city to undercity
Zaun began as an ancient seafaring port sacred to Janna. Around 772 AN the site was drowned in a catastrophic excavation, and it was rebuilt as the undercity below Piltover.
- Zaun · step 2
Chemtech and Shimmer
Without rules, Zaun's alchemists pushed science further. Singed's Shimmer serum can enhance soldiers and also became a major illegal drug that drives the underground economy.
- Zaun · step 3
The Day of Ash and Silco
Vander and Silco led a failed uprising on the Day of Ash, and hundreds died. Silco then built a criminal empire on Shimmer until his adopted daughter Jinx killed him.
- Zaun · step 4
A fractured city
After Silco the Chembarons split, Piltover occupied the undercity, Noxus intervened and Viktor rose to prominence. Zaun is now represented in Piltover's politics, but the peace is uneasy.
