Who they are
Renata Glasc rose from the ashes of her childhood home after her parents were killed by Piltovan nobles. She built her power through business sense and manipulation rather than violence, founding Glasc Industries.
Her enterprise spans chemical manufacturing and weapons distribution across Zaun.
Their story belongs to Zaun. The smoggy undercity where unregulated science pushes back.
Their story, step by step
- Step 1
A Family of Alchemists
Renata was born in Zaun to alchemist parents who made medicines and studied extending life. She lacked their skill. Her family stayed poor because her parents refused money they were offered.
- Step 2
The Fire
Piltover's ruling clans felt threatened by the longevity research and sent vigilantes who burned the Glasc home. Renata tried to save her parents and lost an arm. She alone survived, inheriting their research and name.
- Step 3
Building Glasc Industries
She chose business over her parents' altruism and built Glasc Industries into the wealthiest chem-baron house in Zaun. She ties other people's interests to her own and uses crises to present herself as a saviour. Her chemtech-augmented prosthetic arm became her mark.
- Step 4
Her Web of Influence
She funded Viktor's augmentation research and the suppliers behind Samira's guns, employed Ekko's parents under harsh terms, and turned Baron Spindlow into an operative. Zeri sabotages her operations, and she resents Janna for not helping her family.
Turning points
- Losing her parents and her arm in the fire
- Choosing business and manipulation over her parents' charity
- Founding Glasc Industries
Where their story stands now
Renata remains the dominant chem-baron of Zaun. Zeri's sabotage and her grudge against Janna remain open.

Where this fits in the story
- Zaun · step 1
From port city to undercity
Zaun began as an ancient seafaring port sacred to Janna. Around 772 AN the site was drowned in a catastrophic excavation, and it was rebuilt as the undercity below Piltover.
- Zaun · step 2
Chemtech and Shimmer
Without rules, Zaun's alchemists pushed science further. Singed's Shimmer serum can enhance soldiers and also became a major illegal drug that drives the underground economy.
- Zaun · step 3
The Day of Ash and Silco
Vander and Silco led a failed uprising on the Day of Ash, and hundreds died. Silco then built a criminal empire on Shimmer until his adopted daughter Jinx killed him.
- Zaun · step 4
A fractured city
After Silco the Chembarons split, Piltover occupied the undercity, Noxus intervened and Viktor rose to prominence. Zaun is now represented in Piltover's politics, but the peace is uneasy.
