Who they are
Ziggs is a yordle scientist who once assisted in Piltover and was humiliated when a demonstration at the Yordle Academy went wrong. He later rescued captured yordle professors from a Zaunite prison with his hexplosives and earned the title Dean of Demolitions.
He now lives in Zaun, blowing things up and terrorizing chem-barons and citizens alike.
Their story belongs to Zaun and also touches Bandle City and Piltover. The smoggy undercity where unregulated science pushes back.
Their story, step by step
- Step 1
A hyperactive tinkerer
Ziggs, whose full name is Zigmund, is a yordle from Bandle City with a rare gift for tinkering. His chaotic, hyperactive streak was unusual among yordle scientists, and he dreamed of becoming an inventor like his idol Heimerdinger.
- Step 2
The Academy disaster
At the Yordle Academy in Piltover he demonstrated a hextech engine that failed badly and blew a large hole in the wall. Humiliated, he prepared to go home in shame.
- Step 3
Hexplosives and a rescue
When Zaunite agents kidnapped Academy professors, Ziggs saw a chance to redeem himself. He built powerful explosives he called hexplosives, broke into a Zaunite prison with them and freed the captured yordles. The Academy gave him the title Dean of Demolitions.
- Step 4
Meeting Jinx
After that victory he met Jinx, the blue-haired bomber. A wild night out later, she convinced him to move to Zaun, where he could pursue his explosive passions without restraint.
Turning points
- The failed engine demonstration at the Academy
- Rescuing the captured professors with hexplosives
- Moving to Zaun with Jinx
Where their story stands now
Ziggs lives in Zaun, where he keeps building hexplosives and running experiments that terrorize chem-barons and ordinary citizens alike.
Who they are tied to
Where this fits in the story
- Zaun · step 1
From port city to undercity
Zaun began as an ancient seafaring port sacred to Janna. Around 772 AN the site was drowned in a catastrophic excavation, and it was rebuilt as the undercity below Piltover.
- Zaun · step 2
Chemtech and Shimmer
Without rules, Zaun's alchemists pushed science further. Singed's Shimmer serum can enhance soldiers and also became a major illegal drug that drives the underground economy.
- Zaun · step 3
The Day of Ash and Silco
Vander and Silco led a failed uprising on the Day of Ash, and hundreds died. Silco then built a criminal empire on Shimmer until his adopted daughter Jinx killed him.
- Zaun · step 4
A fractured city
After Silco the Chembarons split, Piltover occupied the undercity, Noxus intervened and Viktor rose to prominence. Zaun is now represented in Piltover's politics, but the peace is uneasy.
