What is Azeroth?

World of Warcraft is not one linear campaign. It is a long history of worlds, factions and eras that begins with the aftermath of Warcraft III, then repeatedly changes Azeroth through invasions, cataclysms, discoveries and uneasy alliances.

This guide follows the large story in playable order: original Azeroth, Outland, Northrend, the Cataclysm, Pandaria, Draenor, the Broken Isles, the Fourth War, the Shadowlands, the Dragon Isles and the Worldsoul Saga. World of Warcraft: Forever is included as a separate ongoing return to the original world, not as a replacement for the main timeline.

Each area page is a concise answer to what happened, who matters and where the thread continues. It deliberately separates completed expansion arcs from live or evolving stories, especially Midnight and Forever.
