What happens in the game

The covenants reveal different functions and failures within the afterlife, while Anduin is dominated and used as the Jailer's weapon.

The campaign reframes the machinery behind the Lich King without erasing the mortal choices made by Arthas, Sylvanas and the people harmed by them.

The story, step by step

  1. The broken sky

    Sylvanas destroys the Helm of Domination and opens the way to the realms of death. Souls are being diverted into the Maw, starving covenants whose functions reveal an afterlife organized through flawed institutions.

  2. Covenants and domination

    The campaigns restore Bastion, Maldraxxus, Ardenweald and Revendreth while exposing Denathrius's alliance with the Jailer. Anduin is dominated and used to seize sigils, making rescue inseparable from questions of agency and trauma.

  3. Zereth Mortis

    The covenants pursue Zovaal into the machinery that shapes afterlives and stop his attempt to rewrite reality under one will. Sylvanas accepts judgment and begins returning souls from the Maw, while Anduin steps away from leadership to recover.

Each covenant performs a necessary function but has turned its virtue into rigidity, revealing reform as part of cosmic repair.
