Their story, step by step
- Step 1
A cursed child
Senna Abaru was born on an unnamed island outside Demacia. As a child she found a shipwreck and met the Black Mist, which left her cursed and tied to a fragment of Isolde's soul. She felt the Mist reaching to trap her.
- Step 2
Urias and Lucian
When the Harrowing struck her village, the Sentinel Urias rescued the people and became her mentor. Urias died fighting wraiths that were hunting her, so she went to Demacia to tell his son Lucian. They trained as Sentinels together, fell in love and married.
- Step 3
The lantern
Lucian was desperate to cure her curse and took her to a forgotten crypt, where they fought Thresh. Senna gave herself up to save Lucian, and Thresh trapped her soul in his lantern. Inside, she learned to shape the Black Mist and freed other souls, and discovered that she held an abundance of life instead of a death curse.
- Step 4
Freedom
Lucian shot the lantern open with his pistol and freed her. Senna came out shrouded in death with a cannon made from fallen Sentinels' relic weapons, able to wield darkness and light. She now captains the new Sentinels of Light.
- Step 5
Hunting Viego
Senna and Lucian fight Viego and the spread of the Black Mist. He wants back the fragment of Isolde's soul she carries. She recruited several Sentinels, including Vayne, and Gwen, who also holds Isolde's soul fragments, has joined them against Viego.
Turning points
- Met the Black Mist as a child
- Sacrificed herself to Thresh to save Lucian
- Escaped the lantern with power over the Black Mist
- Became captain of the new Sentinels
Where their story stands now
Senna leads the Sentinels against Viego and keeps hunting Thresh, who has left the Shadow Isles. She disapproves of Akshan's repeated breaches of the Sentinel code. The meaning of being both wraith and light-wielder is still unfolding.
