Who they are
Akshan grew up an orphan on the streets of Marwi and nearly died at the hands of brutal warlords before his mentor Shadya revived him and trained him. After her murder, he set out on a path of vengeance against those who commit injustice.
He carries the Absolver, a weapon that can revive the recently dead by taking the life of their killer. He follows a simple personal code: don't be an ass.
Their story belongs to Shurima. A fallen empire of living gods, waking up again.
Their story, step by step
- Step 1
An orphan in Marwi
Akshan grew up an orphan in Marwi, a Shuriman city run by brutal warlords. He stood up to injustice even as a child, and the warlords beat him nearly to death.
- Step 2
Shadya
An old woman named Shadya found him, nursed him back to health and revealed she belonged to the Sentinels of Light. She trained him and gave him a home. She later showed him the Absolver, a relic gun that can revive the recently dead by killing their killer, and told him she had used it to save his life.
- Step 3
Vengeance
A warlord murdered Shadya. Akshan took the Absolver against her wishes, added a boomerang and grappling hook, and set out to avenge her.
- Step 4
The Ruined King
When Lucian and a Sentinel recruit came looking for the Absolver, Akshan was still driven by revenge. After watching them fall fighting the Ruined King, he used the Absolver to revive them and understood Shadya's real purpose. He joined the Sentinels, helped revive Senna and Gwen, and shot Queen Isolde at her own request.
- Step 5
Home again
Back in Shurima he struggled with fading memories of Shadya. He took her bracelets back from a warlord and gave them to a street kid, honouring what she stood for.
Turning points
- Being saved by Shadya
- Taking the Absolver after her murder
- Reviving Lucian and the recruit instead of pursuing revenge
- Giving Shadya's bracelets to a street child
Where their story stands now
Akshan serves as a Sentinel but keeps his irreverent style. How he balances his personal vengeance against the Sentinels' wider mission is unfinished.
Who they are tied to

- Senna →Senna commands the Sentinels Akshan joined, and he helped revive her during the fight against Viego.
- Vayne →Initially hostile, now a wary ally
- Gwen →A living doll with enchanted sewing tools who fights the Black Mist.

- Shurima · step 2
Icathia
After centuries of domination the Icathians rebelled. Facing defeat, they unleashed the Void, and the Ascended sealed its rifts at tremendous cost.
- Shurima · step 3
Xerath's betrayal
Xerath betrayed Azir around 2000 BN and the empire collapsed. Nasus had earlier locked away his brother Renekton, who had gone mad, and Xerath's betrayal freed him.
- Shurima · step 4
Azir returns
Azir was resurrected when Sivir, his last descendant, bled into the sacred sands. He restored his fallen city, and the new Shurima is reshaping the politics of the whole world.
