Who they are
Nasus is one of the Ascended. He locked his brother Renekton away in the Tomb of the Emperors after Renekton descended into madness.
Their story belongs to Shurima. A fallen empire of living gods, waking up again.
Their story, step by step
- Step 1
Curator of the Sands
Nasus was born in Shurima City during the empire's golden age and became one of the Ascended through the Sun Disc ritual. He was a warrior and scholar who guided Shurima's military and culture for centuries, earning the title Curator of the Sands.
- Step 2
The empire falls
Shurima collapsed when the young Emperor Azir, misled by his magus Xerath, attempted a forbidden Ascension ritual. Nasus had to imprison his own brother Renekton, who had gone mad, along with the betrayer Xerath. The aftermath left him carrying sorrow along with power.
- Step 3
Exile
Afterward Nasus chose exile and wandered the ruins of his civilization until he was little more than a legend.
- Step 4
The Sun Disc rises
When the Sun Disc rose again, Nasus came out of obscurity. He sought Sivir, whom he saw as key to restoring Shurima and defeating Xerath.
- Step 5
Standing against Xerath
During Xerath's assault he faced the sorcerer directly so that Sivir and Taliyah could get other citizens away.
Turning points
- Ascending and guiding Shurima for centuries
- Sealing away Renekton and Xerath
- Choosing exile after the fall
- Confronting Xerath so Sivir and Taliyah could escape
Where their story stands now
Nasus is again active in Shurima's struggle against Xerath. Whether Renekton can be cured, how Shurima will be restored alongside Azir, and what becomes of the imprisoned Darkin are unresolved.
