Who they are
Ornn is a demigod who made wonders in the Freljord. He withdrew after his conflict with Volibear ended the Hearthblood civilization.
Their story belongs to The Freljord. Three tribes, one frozen land, and something sealed beneath the ice.
Their story, step by step
- Step 1
A spirit of fire and forging
Ornn is a Spirit God of fire, volcanoes and craftsmanship, who has been in the Freljord since its earliest days. Legend says he fought the land itself and reshaped it with his strength. After his first home burned, he forged Hearth-Home, a mountain with a forge fed by primordial flame.
- Step 2
Works and tricks
Three sisters, Lissandra, Serylda and Avarosa, asked him to dig an abyss and bridge it with sky-metal, which he did, though Lissandra later damaged the bridge with spells. He made a hammer from the same metal and kept it above his other tools. He also lost a drinking contest to the troll Grubgrack by way of True Ice, and paid by making a door that trapped the troll inside.
- Step 3
The Hearthblood
Expert forgers from all over Runeterra settled near Hearth-Home as the Hearthblood. Ornn asked for no worship from them, and although he rarely praised anything, he quietly admired their dedication.
- Step 4
War with Volibear
His closest sibling was Volibear, who grew jealous of the Hearthblood's affection and demanded weapons and armor for his warband. When Ornn refused, Volibear threatened to take them and Ornn attacked first. Their eight-day fight ended with the Hearthblood wiped out, and afterward Volibear fought without armor. Ornn has not cared deeply about anyone since.
- Step 5
Solitude today
Ornn stays in Hearth-Home and keeps working alone. Smoke is seen rising from the mountain, and some people wonder whether he is keeping the world's first flame alive, forging weapons, or has died. Lissandra's Frostguard work against worship of old demigods like him.

Where their story stands now
Ornn lives alone in Hearth-Home and speaks with almost no one. His break with Volibear shows no sign of healing, and no one knows what he is working on.
