Who they are
Nunu is a boy from the wandering Notai tribe who found an ancient yeti, Willump, in forgotten ruins. The Heart of the Blue, an essence of Anivia, gave him ice magic and the power to bring his imagination to life.
He travels the Freljord searching for his lost mother, bonded with Willump through friendship.
Their story belongs to The Freljord. Three tribes, one frozen land, and something sealed beneath the ice.
Their story, step by step
- Step 1
A boy of the Notai
Nunu was born into the wandering Notai tribe. His mother, Layka, taught him that every person and place has a story worth singing, and gave him a flute at age five, which he named Svellsongur.
- Step 2
Separation
Raiders attacked the caravan and separated him from his mother. Other Notai rescued him, but he withdrew and buried himself in hero legends, determined to hunt a monster that had beaten every hunter sent against it.
- Step 3
Willump
Nunu slipped away on an elkyr and found ancient yeti ruins, where the lonely Willump guarded a glowing gem. Instead of fighting, Nunu started a snowball fight. When Willump accidentally broke the flute, he gave Nunu magical power and repaired it with True Ice, forming their bond.
- Step 4
The Heart of the Blue
Nunu and Willump set out across the Freljord to find the Heart of the Blue, which Nunu thought was a weapon that could reunite him with his mother. They fought corrupted ice wolves, purified a statue of Anivia, and met Braum, Ornn and Volibear. At Ramshara they learned the yetis were blessed by Anivia and later betrayed by Lissandra, and that the Heart was Anivia's essence, guarded by Willump.

Lissandra
Lissandra captured Willump and used a false image of Nunu's mother against him. Nunu, with Braum's help, entered the Frostguard Citadel. He resisted her, realized the real Heart of the Blue was his bond with Willump, and together they beat her. She survived and now thinks Nunu may be the one to save the Freljord.
