Their story, step by step
- Step 1
A yordle who wanted order
Poppy was born in Bandle City, but she never fit in with the playful, chaotic ways of her people. She felt a pull toward order and purpose instead. That longing led her to leave home and travel west through the human lands of Valoran.
- Step 2
Meeting Orlon
Along the road she watched settlers and caravans and noticed a human commander named Orlon. He could lift the spirits of exhausted people, and he carried a huge war hammer. Poppy risked revealing herself to him, and the two formed a lasting bond.
- Step 3
Finding Demacia
Orlon became her mentor and guided her to the newly founded kingdom of Demacia. There she found people who were willing to work for the common good, and she made a place among them.
- Step 4
A deathbed vow
As Orlon lay dying, he told her the hammer had never really been his. It was meant for the Hero of Demacia, who would one day defend the kingdom against darkness. Poppy swore she would find that hero and put the weapon in their hands.
- Step 5
The long search
She searched Demacia in secret for a very long time. More than once she handed the hammer to a warrior she hoped was the one. In one case a brave knight faced crag beasts that were threatening civilians, but the hammer did nothing for him and he was killed. Poppy took the hammer back and kept going.

Still on the road
She has since helped Demacia in times of crisis, including fighting beside Vayne when Viego's Black Mist attacked. She has no fixed home and her quest is still unfinished.

- Losing a brave knight who could not wield the hammer, then resuming the search

Poppy is alive, still wandering Demacia and still looking for the Hero of Demacia. the lore hints that her own humility may be hiding the answer from her, but they never say so outright.
