Who they are
Lillia was born from the Dreaming Tree's own dream and serves as its protector. She looks after the dreams of mortals that flow into the ancient tree.
She left her forest to find out why fewer dreams reach the tree since the Noxian invasion. She learned that helping people untangle their fears restores its strength.
Their story belongs to Ionia. Natural magic, spirits, and a peace that war broke.
Their story, step by step
- Step 1
The Tree's Dream
Lillia was born from the Dreaming Tree's own dream, a tree that grew from seeds of the God-Willow tended by Ivern in the Garden of Forgetting. She became the garden's caretaker, looking after buds that hold human dreams.
- Step 2
A Longing for Dreamers
Tending those dreams, she grew enchanted by them and longed to meet the people who dreamed them. That longing grew as a bud on the tree's branch.
- Step 3
The Tree Falls Ill
After the Noxian invasion of Ionia, dreams stopped reaching the garden. The Dreaming Tree grew sick. During the Spirit Blossom festival, warriors chased a swordsman into the garden and her branch was cut. Frightened, she put them to sleep with dream dust and wiped their memories.
- Step 4
Leaving the Garden
The fleeing figure's dream joined her bud, and she bloomed with new understanding of people. She decided that to save the tree she must go out and gather dreams.
- Step 5
Wandering Ionia
She now travels Ionia with a censer made from the branch, helping people untangle fears. She has stepped into corrupted dreamscapes, including protecting Lux's dream of an accepting Demacia.
Turning points
- The branch being cut at the Spirit Blossom festival
- Absorbing the swordsman's dream
- Leaving the garden to gather dreams
Where their story stands now

- Ionia · step 2
The Darkin war
Ancient god-warriors invaded Ionia in the Darkin war. The Kinkou Order sealed them inside weapons.
- Ionia · step 3
The Noxian invasion
Noxus occupied territory for about five years and took magical artifacts, then withdrew. Irelia led the resistance.
- Ionia · step 4
A divided peace
The war left Ionia split between those who want to stay peaceful and those who want to be ready to fight. Zed founded the Order of Shadow, a rival to the Kinkou that uses forbidden dark magic.
