Who they are
Yunara is a devoted warrior who guarded the Temple of Twilight in the Spirit Realm for more than a millennium. She wields the legendary Aion Er'na.
Recently returned to the material realm, she remains devoted to protecting Ionia.
Their story belongs to Ionia. Natural magic, spirits, and a peace that war broke.
Their story, step by step
- Step 1
Trained by the Kinkou
Yunara was born in Ionia and given to the Kinkou Order as a child. She trained under Master Bhinan and Master Lao, who carried the sacred relic Aion Er'na.
- Step 2
The Darkin invade
Corrupted god-warriors from Shurima, the Darkin, came to Ionia pretending to be benevolent spirits. Yunara saved Lao, who then faced the Darkin Xolaani and gave his life. She took on his role as Fist of Shadow and his weapon.
- Step 3
Zaahen
During the defense of Koeshin, an uncorrupted god-warrior named Zaahen offered help. The Kinkou accepted him warily, and Yunara watched him through nearly three years of shared fighting. Together they defeated and sealed Varus, Rhaast, Xolaani and Praa.
- Step 4
A thousand years of guarding
Afraid of his own corruption, Zaahen sealed himself in his glaive, and the Kinkou hid it in the Temple of Twilight within the Spirit Realm. Yunara gave up her title and swore to guard it. She spent more than a millennium there, fighting azakana drawn to the glaive.

The temple returns
A disturbance sent the temple back into the material world. Yunara met Xin Zhao fighting demons near Koeshin and fought alongside him. LeBlanc had already taken Zaahen's glaive and embedded it in the demon Atakhan, and Xin Zhao sacrificed himself so Zaahen could take him as a host and destroy Atakhan.

Honoring Xin
Yunara took Xin's spear to Demacia, where Prince Jarvan IV and King Jarvan III received her. She stayed for months and saw Demacia's fear of magic. Back in Ionia she visits a shrine to Xin and talks to him.

Where their story stands now
Yunara is back in an Ionia she barely recognizes, and she distrusts how reluctant the modern Kinkou are to confront threats. Zaahen's stability is uncertain, and the Darkin have returned.
