Lee Sin is a human from Ionia who mastered the region's ancient martial arts. He serves the Shojin Order at the Shojin Monastery.

Losing his sight
At some point he lost his vision. The sources do not give the circumstances. He turned the loss into a deeper connection with spirit magic and meditation.

Guardian of balance
As a monk and guardian he protects the spiritual balance of Ionia. He has opposed the Order of Shadow, which threatens that balance.

Friends and students
He befriended Udyr, and together they pushed back Noxian invaders from Lee Sin's homeland while Udyr found calm with the monks' help. He also has bonds with disciples of the order, such as Ying Yue.
