Who they are
As a child Syndra's uncontrolled power destroyed her village's sacred willow tree, and her family was exiled. She was sent to the academy at Fae'lor to train.
She learned her mentor was suppressing her abilities and saw it as betrayal. After awakening from long imprisonment she became a dark sovereign full of rage toward those who tried to control her.
Their story belongs to Ionia. Natural magic, spirits, and a peace that war broke.
Their story, step by step
- Step 1
A village's willow
Syndra was born in Navori, Ionia, to parents who often punished her for being distracted. She took refuge with the Spectral Willow. When her brother Evard and his friends found her hiding place and taunted her, her rage struck. Three glowing orbs appeared, the tree withered, and the village that relied on it exiled her family.
- Step 2
Fae'lor
Her parents enrolled her at Fae'lor, a school for taming wild magic. She felt content at first, then sensed her powers fading. She learned her teacher Konigen had been sealing them on purpose.
- Step 3
Betrayal
Furious, she killed Konigen with a burst of energy and rose into the sky, calling three orbs that drained Fae'lor and wrecked the island. The Spirit of Ionia restrained her with vines and sank her into the Dreaming Pool.
- Step 4
The long sleep
She lay in an endless dream replaying her childhood humiliation while the jailer Kalan watched over her. During the Noxian invasion, Vastayan fighters looking for allies found her.
- Step 5
Waking
A desperate Vastaya attacked her, and her eyes snapped open. She killed the group, buried her jailer under stone, lifted the ruined Fae'lor temple into the air and drifted away.
