Their story, step by step
- Step 1
A Lhotlan childhood
Xayah is a Lhotlan vastaya, born in Lhotlan Village in Ionia long ago. Her father sang folk hymns about vastayan heroes. She saw each generation of her people growing weaker as human settlement spread and magic faded.
- Step 2
Seeking dialogue, finding hostility
Unlike her tribe, she refused to just withdraw and went into human settlements to talk. People tried to steal her feathers as trophies and called authorities to capture her. She defended herself and killed her attackers.
- Step 3
A vanished tribe
When she went home, her tribe, her father included, were gone. Their temple had been corrupted by shadow magic, cutting the link to the Spirit Realm. She destroyed it, restoring some magic but not finding her people.
- Step 4
The Violet Raven
She became a freedom fighter known as the Violet Raven and fought alone across Ionia for years. In the town of Vlonqo she met Rakan, whom she first dismissed, but she came to value his skill and then love him.
- Step 5
A rebellion
With Rakan she now leads a vastayan rebellion that grew after the Noxian invasion. They fought Zed's Order of the Shadow over a magical grove and also met Lee Sin. Her aim is to restore Ionia's magic and her people's strength.
