Who they are
Yone was killed by his half-brother Yasuo during the conflict over Elder Souma's death. He returned from the Spirit Realm with a demonic mask fused to his face.
He now hunts malevolent azakana spirits with steel and spirit blades, seeking to understand what he has become.
Their story belongs to Ionia. Natural magic, spirits, and a peace that war broke.
Their story, step by step
- Step 1
Elder brother
Yone was born in Navori, Ionia, the older half-brother of Yasuo. After their father died he looked after Yasuo, and the two stayed close despite Yone being careful and respectful and Yasuo being brash. He trained at the village sword school and became a master of dual blades.
- Step 2
The invasion
When Noxus invaded Ionia, Yone left to defend the land while Yasuo stayed to guard Elder Souma. Souma was found dead from a wind technique only Yasuo knew. Yone blamed himself for not guiding his brother and joined the hunt for him.
- Step 3
Killed by his brother
In their confrontation Yasuo struck Yone down. As he died, Yone heard Yasuo deny the killing and wondered why he had run.
- Step 4
The azakana mask
In the Spirit Realm, Yone's rage drew out an azakana with a blood-red blade. He won the duel, took the blade and destroyed it. Back in the Material Realm a blood-red mask like the azakana's was fused to his face, giving him spirit sight and the means to hunt demons.
- Step 5
Hunting and reunion
He now hunts azakana to understand what he has become, which he treats as more urgent than settling things with Yasuo. At the Spirit Blossom festival in Weh'le the brothers met when Yone hunted a demon posing as a monk. Yasuo let go of his past, they beat the creature together, and they parted peacefully. Around then Yone met the fawn spirit Lillia and vowed to protect her from azakana.
Turning points
- Being struck down by Yasuo
- Killing the azakana and waking with its mask
- Fighting beside Yasuo at the Spirit Blossom festival
Where their story stands now
Yone continues his azakana hunt. It is unclear whether Yone has forgiven Yasuo or Yasuo has forgiven himself.
