Who they are

Their story belongs to Bandle City. A pocket of the spirit realm where yordles live, and time runs strange.
Their story, step by step
- Step 1
A magical cat
Yuumi was born in Bandle City, a cat with protective magic. She became the familiar of Norra, a yordle enchantress who collected strange artifacts. Her name came from a misunderstanding of Norra saying "you" and "me".
- Step 2
Norra vanishes
When Norra disappeared, Yuumi found that she had destroyed a page of the Book of Thresholds to protect the sentient book from danger. Yuumi became the Book's keeper.
- Step 3
Searching through pages
Yuumi and the Book started travelling through its portals into many realms to look for Norra. The Book urges caution while Yuumi is playful and easily distracted by naps and fish.
- Step 4
Friends and foes
On the road she shielded Braum from snow-spirits in return for fish and visits Alune in the Spirit Realm. In Shuriman ruins she found a shard of Norra's teapot, but Rek'Sai attacked and they barely escaped.

Many yordles live elsewhere. Kennen joined Ionia's Kinkou Order, Poppy became a legendary Demacian warrior and Heimerdinger is an inventor in Piltover.
- Bandle City · step 4
An ancient people
Yordles built their gateway system thousands of years ago. The discovery of Gnar, a prehistoric yordle frozen in time, suggests they are an ancient race.
