Who they are
Alune is a Lunari who channels moon magic from a temple fortress. Her brother Aphelios wields mystical weapons.
Their story belongs to Targon. The tallest peak in Runeterra, and the beings who choose hosts there.
Their story, step by step
- Step 1
Born under an eclipse
Alune and her twin Aphelios were born to the Lunari when the spirit moon eclipsed the physical moon. Aphelios had gifts of body, while Alune was gifted in magic by the spirit moon. The family lived as devout Lunari, hiding from the Solari, who persecuted them as heretics.
- Step 2
The temple surfaces
The Lunari temple, Marus Omegnum, began rising out of the Spirit Realm for the first time in centuries, and Alune was chosen to dwell in it. The Solari found the ceremony and attacked.
- Step 3
A poisoned brother
To defend their people, Aphelios ate poisonous noctum flowers. It caused terrible pain and opened him to the night's power.
- Step 4
Into the spirit realm
In the heart of the temple Alune's magic was amplified, and she found she could send power through the poison in her brother's blood, giving him five moonstone weapons. She then drew herself and the temple back into the Spirit Realm to keep it safe, which left her physically stuck there but still linked to him.
Turning points
- Being chosen as the temple's occupant
- Giving Aphelios moonstone weapons through his poisoned blood
- Taking the temple back into the Spirit Realm
Where their story stands now
Alune lives in the Marus Omegnum, meditating, scrying and tending a garden, and speaks to Aphelios through the noctum poison. The two are searching for Diana, the Aspect of the Moon, and the reason is not explained in the lore.
