Who they are
Aphelios is a Lunari who wields mystical weapons. His sister Alune channels moon magic from a temple fortress.
Their story belongs to Targon. The tallest peak in Runeterra, and the beings who choose hosts there.
Their story, step by step
- Step 1
Children of the moon
Aphelios and his twin sister Alune were born on Mount Targon during a rare lunar convergence, which marked them as children of destiny among the Lunari. He stood for the physical moon through combat, and she for the spiritual moon through magic. Growing up they were persecuted by the rival Solari, and Aphelios became isolated, close only to Alune.
- Step 2
A voice lost
When Alune left to continue her magical training, Aphelios lacked direction and set out to find his orbit, his destined path. In a hidden cave he drank the poisonous essence of noctum flowers as a rite. The poison numbed his body to pain and took his voice.
- Step 3
Marus Omegnum
A Lunari fortress phased into the world for the first time in centuries, and Alune was chosen to dwell in it. During the ceremony, Solari warriors attacked the Lunari gathered there. As Alune entered the fortress in the spirit realm, Aphelios took noctum poison again and found he could act as a channel for her amplified magic.
- Step 4
Two bodies, one purpose
Alune stays inside the temple and channels moonstone weapons through Aphelios, and the two share thoughts and senses. He carries out assassinations of Solari threats. On his latest mission he found a barbarian holding Diana's crescent blade, killed the Solari Burning Ones around him and took the scimitar.

Where their story stands now
Aphelios is the Lunari's main agent, silent and guided by Alune, and loyal despite doubts about his missions. Alune recognised the blade as belonging to Diana, who seems to be fleeing something, and the twins now want to find her and bring her to the Lunari.
