Who they are
Leona hosts the Aspect of the Sun and is devoted to Solari teachings. She also wants to help Diana, who has turned away from the Solari.
Their story belongs to Targon. The tallest peak in Runeterra, and the beings who choose hosts there.
Their story, step by step
- Step 1
Raised in the Solari faith
Leona was born in the Rakkor tribes of Mount Targon to the Sunforgers Iasur and Melia, with siblings Aidonel and Kespina. She grew up in the Solari faith, which venerates the sun. Her willpower and devotion made her stand out and made others jealous, and she was meant for the elite Ra'Horak warriors.

The orphan Diana
The Solari took in an orphan named Diana, who rejected their beliefs and worshipped the moon. Others punished her as a heretic, but Leona pitied her. Diana shared a discovery suggesting the sun and moon were not enemies, and Leona told her to give it up so she would not be punished.

Climbing Targon
One night Leona caught Diana sneaking out and chose to protect her rather than report her. She followed Diana up the mountain, enduring harsh trials. At the summit she found Diana wrapped in silver light and in pain.

Aspect of the Sun
As Leona went to help, a column of golden light struck her. Her will let her keep her mind, and she became the host of the Aspect of the Sun while Diana became the Aspect of the Moon. Diana wanted them to seek answers together, but Leona insisted they go home to face the priests. They fought, and Diana refused to strike the final blow and fled.

A guiding light
Back down the mountain, Leona found many priests and Ra'Horak guards dead, apparently at Diana's hands. The survivors were in awe of her, and she vowed to guide her people. She became commander of the Ra'Horak.

Pantheon and Diana today
Atreus came up the mountain seeking power when Leona refused to destroy barbarian trespassers. He fought the Darkin Aatrox and became the Aspect of War, then opposed Leona. She had held back because Aatrox was slaughtering the barbarians, a fact Atreus learned only later.
Turning points

Where their story stands now
Leona remains the Aspect of the Sun and leader of the Ra'Horak. She still cares for Diana and wants to help her control the Moon Aspect's power, but they cannot reconcile. Her conflict with Pantheon over how the Aspects should be governed also remains open.
