Who they are
Rumble was bullied as a child in Bandle City. He built a giant mechanized suit named Tristy from scavenged junk to show yordle technology beats human inventions.
Despite his temper he is resourceful and kind, once defending a crippled Shuriman named Anaktu from bullies.
Their story belongs to Bandle City. A pocket of the spirit realm where yordles live, and time runs strange.
Their story, step by step
- Step 1
A scrappy junkyard kid
Rumble grew up in Bandle City and was bullied by other yordles, which left him irritable and scrappy. He took refuge in tinkering with scrap in the junkyard and built real mechanical skill.
- Step 2
Turning down the Academy
His teachers recommended he attend Heimerdinger's Yordle Academy of Science and Progress in Piltover. He refused, thinking Heimerdinger and his school had sold out by sharing yordle technology with humans.
- Step 3
Humiliation
When human students from the Academy visited Bandle City, Rumble tried to greet them and was beaten and humiliated, while watchers called him an embarrassment to enlightened yordles.
- Step 4
Tristy
He left Bandle City for several months and came back with a huge mech built from scavenged junk, which he named Tristy after a yordle he had a crush on. It was meant as proof that yordle engineering could match human work.
- Step 5
A stand in Nashramae
Disguised as an old merchant, he went to Nashramae in Shurima, where Kesu Rance, the governor's stepson, was bullying a disabled local named Anaktu. When Kesu mocked him too, Rumble fired up Tristy, which at first malfunctioned. He used his electrified harpoon and flamespitter to scare off the bullies and made Kesu apologize for insulting junk.

Where their story stands now
Rumble is back in Bandle City as an inventor and defender, runs a lab-suit training program where he is dean, and competes in mech arena fights. His quarrel with Heimerdinger and his unreturned feelings for Tristana are not developed in the lore, which also note canon inconsistencies.
