Who they are
Gangplank ruled Bilgewater as the Reaver King until Miss Fortune destroyed his ship. He survived with Illaoi's help, gained a metal arm, and now contests the port with her.
Their story belongs to Bilgewater. A lawless harbor where anything can be bought, and the dead come ashore.
Their story, step by step
- Step 1
The Reaver King
Gangplank rose in Bilgewater to rule the port through fear and brutality, becoming known as the Reaver King. He commissioned a pair of pistols from a skilled gunsmith. When she refused to hand over the weapons, he murdered her without remorse.
- Step 2
Sarah's revenge
The gunsmith's daughter Sarah Fortune watched the killing. She became a bounty hunter and spent years seeking vengeance, and eventually she overthrew Gangplank and apparently killed him. She is now known as Miss Fortune.
- Step 3
Thresh and Viego
Gangplank survived and struck a deal with Thresh, hoping to wake and control Viego in order to retake Bilgewater. Viego proved too powerful and possessed Gangplank instead.
- Step 4
Escape and war
Miss Fortune beat him again during the Ruined King events and held him for public execution. He escaped before it happened and is now fighting a large gang war against her for the port.
Turning points
- Murdering the gunsmith who would not give up his pistols
- Being overthrown by Miss Fortune
- Allying with Thresh and being possessed by Viego
- Escaping execution to start a gang war
Where their story stands now
Gangplank is alive but possessed by Viego, fighting Miss Fortune for control of Bilgewater. It is unresolved whether he can regain control of himself or the city.
