What it is
The Ezio trilogy is a continuous character story: II begins with betrayal in Florence, Brotherhood makes Ezio responsible for Rome's wider order, and Revelations asks what remains after a life built around a cause.
Discovery runs alongside the Spanish period and is listed in the index as a side game. The trilogy itself is the clearest entry point for how the Creed develops from one exceptional Assassin into a durable Brotherhood.
Ezio's long life lets the series show a cause changing with age. He begins by mistaking vengeance for purpose, learns to build an organization in Rome, and ends by recognizing that a legacy has value only if those after him can choose their own work.
The Italian, Roman and Constantinopolitan stages show Ezio changing because his world changes around him. He outlives the immediate family feud and must decide what an experienced leader owes to people who will inherit conflicts he cannot finish.
The short version
- Ezio's trilogy is one continuous arc across three main games.
- Rome changes Ezio from avenger to leader.
- Revelations links Ezio's final search to Altaïr's legacy.
- Ezio's trilogy turns an inherited feud into a study of leadership, succession and the limits of one person's control over history.
The story in 6 steps
- Step 1
Lose the family
Private betrayal gives Ezio a reason to enter the hidden war.
- Step 2
Build the Brotherhood
Rome teaches him that leadership means creating successors.
- Step 3
Read Altaïr
The older Assassin's memory corrects Ezio's idea of legacy.
- Step 4
Address Desmond
Ezio's final message reaches beyond his own era.
- Step 5
Leave room for successors
The final movement matters because Ezio stops trying to solve every future himself and passes knowledge on without dictating its use.
- Step 6
Read a life across decades
Move through the trilogy as a sustained maturation story rather than three isolated victories over the same enemy.
