What happens in the game

Naoe's shinobi perspective begins from the destruction of home and community; Yasuke's warrior path begins from service inside an unfamiliar hierarchy.

Their stories converge without becoming identical, using different methods and relationships to uncover the network operating behind the period's open warfare.

The story, step by step

  1. Two lives disrupted by unification

Naoe's path begins with the destruction of her Iga community, while Yasuke enters the era through service to Oda Nobunaga. Their separate openings give war, hierarchy and foreignness different personal meanings.

  2. The Shinbakufu

Investigation of the masked network moves through castles, ports and provinces undergoing political consolidation. Naoe's stealth networks and Yasuke's open combat reveal different access to the same structures of coercion.

  3. Chosen purpose

As the conspiracy is dismantled, both protagonists confront loyalties formed by family, service and revenge. The resolution preserves their distinct identities while making cooperation the answer to a system neither perspective could fully expose alone.

What the story is really about

Perspective changes historical scale

A shinobi protecting local memory and a retainer navigating elite power experience unification as different processes, not one neutral timeline.

Belonging is practiced

Neither origin nor assigned station fully defines the protagonists; trust is built through shared work without erasing difference.

How it ends

The central campaign resolves major targets while preserving the protagonists' distinct obligations and leaving parts of the wider historical struggle beyond a single victory.

What changes afterward

  • Japan becomes a full historical branch of the Assassin-Templar conflict.
  • The dual protagonists make cooperation across different social positions central to the story.

How it connects forward

Its story stands within the wider anthology rather than directly resolving Basim's modern arc.
