Sigismund withdraws after Henry's coalition steals his silver. Henry returns with reinforcements to save Suchdol, while Markvart dies from Dry Devil's attack rather than in Henry's long-awaited duel. Henry's parents respond to the virtue or cruelty of the player's life. Radzig offers his sword, and Henry may continue as soldier or adventurer, or refuse it and settle into civilian life.

What it means
The ending denies revenge the power to organize history. Henry cannot choose Markvart's death, but he can choose what his parents' memory authorizes him to become. The epilogue treats accumulated conduct as the real conclusion. Titles and swords matter less than whether Henry used new power to reproduce the violence that created him.
consequences
Henry's ending is mature when it accepts that he cannot retrieve his old life. What he carries home is not a restored identity but responsibility for the loyalties he has chosen. The ending is best read against the earlier turning points: it does not erase their damage, but shows what the protagonists choose to carry forward after it.
