The Revolution
In this chapterHe assassinates most of Haytham's allies in the colonies.
Connor sees the Revolution as a chance to protect his people, but it is also a hunt for Templars. He builds the Davenport Homestead and recruits help. He meets Haytham, his father, and works with him against a rogue Templar. Then Haytham finds out that Washington gave the order to attack Connor's village. Connor breaks with both.
The Revolution is shown without simple heroes. Washington is a symbol of freedom for many, and also the man behind the attack on Connor's home. Connor and Haytham's partnership is uneasy. They share a goal for a time, but each wants a different future. Connor's disillusionment is the game's central emotional turn: he fights for liberty but sees its leaders are not free of corruption.
What unfolds
Connor is drawn into the American Revolution, trying to protect his people and keep the revolution free of Templar control.
Connor meets his father, Haytham, and they work together to eliminate a rogue Templar.
Haytham discovers that George Washington ordered the attack that killed Kaniehti:io; Connor breaks with both men.

Fort George and Charles Lee
In this chapterHaytham remains committed to replacing Washington with Lee; when Lee is disgraced and takes refuge in Fort George, Connor infiltrates the fort and reluctantly kills Haytham.
Connor learns that Lee has recruited Mohawk warriors, and he has to kill his friend Kanen'tó:kon to avoid a war. Haytham plans to replace Washington with Lee. After Lee falls from favour and hides in Fort George, Connor confronts and kills his father. He then hunts Lee down and kills him, taking the key. He returns to his village, finds it empty and, following Juno, buries the key.
The death of Haytham is the emotional peak of the colonial story. Connor does it reluctantly, and the game lets Haytham leave a final statement about Templar ideals. Killing Kanen'tó:kon is a painful moment for Connor, and shows how the war divides families. The buried key is a plot device that sets up the final events in the present.
What unfolds
Returning to his village, Connor learns that Charles Lee has recruited Mohawk warriors to resist the American forces; Connor is forced to kill his childhood friend Kanen'tó:kon to prevent conflict.
Connor tracks down and assassinates Charles Lee and retrieves the key from Haytham.
Returning to his village, Connor finds it abandoned, and following Juno's instructions buries the key in the grave of Achilles' son.
Epilogue · 2012 · playing as Desmond
Desmond's Sacrifice
In this chapterAfter his father William is captured, Desmond storms Abstergo's headquarters in Rome, kills Cross and Warren Vidic, and rescues his father.
Desmond collects the batteries, rescues his father and kills the Abstergo leaders who have chased him. In the Temple he learns that the only way to stop the solar flare is to give up his life. Minerva opposes the sacrifice because it would free Juno, but Desmond chooses to die to save humanity. The closing scene returns to Connor, who feels he has failed.
Desmond's ending is the end of a five-game arc. He accepts the loss of his life as the cost of saving everyone. Minerva and Juno represent two different views of the First Civilization's legacy. The player sees that no choice is clean.
The Connor epilogue ties the two timelines: both end with a hero who has done what he thought was right and is left to wonder if it was enough.
What unfolds
Desmond retrieves batteries from Manhattan and Brazil to activate the Temple while being hunted by the Templar Daniel Cross.
In the Temple, Juno reveals that Desmond can save the world only at the cost of his own life; Minerva opposes it.
Desmond chooses to sacrifice himself to save humanity and prevent Juno's conquest.
An 1783 scene shows Connor believing he failed his people, though he has helped the revolution; he resolves to keep fighting for a better future.
