Ending explained

Every route, what unlocks it and what each final choice means.

~4 min read

After assembling the Armillary, the Spacefarer reaches the Unity and meets a version of themselves. The Unity shows how major choices will affect the universe they are leaving. The traveler can step into the Unity and awaken as Starborn in another universe, or turn back and continue their current life. Returning does not close the option permanently.

What it means

Starfield turns New Game Plus into the story's central temptation. Mechanical repetition becomes the Starborn condition: greater knowledge can deepen care or make every person feel replaceable. There is no single moral ending. Staying protects continuity; crossing embraces transformation. The cost of either choice is understanding what the other path might contain.

consequences

The Unity ending is deliberately bittersweet. Entering preserves curiosity but abandons a particular world; returning values a life precisely because it cannot be replayed with the same people. The ending is best read against the earlier turning points: it does not erase their damage, but shows what the protagonists choose to carry forward after it.
