End of Chapter 6
Arthur's ending
Arthur's ending depends on two things: his honor, built up by what the player does across the game, and one final choice: help John escape, or go back for the gang's money.

John's ending
Eight years later, John builds a ranch at Beecher's Hope and marries Abigail. On Mount Hagen, Dutch shoots Micah and leaves, and John kills Micah, avenging Arthur. John takes the gang's Blackwater money.
Edgar Ross then tracks Micah's killer to John's ranch. That is the thread that leads directly into the first Red Dead Redemption.
What it means
The money the gang chased from the first scene ends up with John, and it is also what puts Edgar Ross on his trail. Arthur's last chapter is about trying to do right before he dies; his ending, and whether Micah is the one who kills him, reflects how honorably the player chose to play him.
