Final Fantasy XVI ends with Ultima destroyed, the last Mothercrystal gone and magic removed from Valisthea. Clive and Joshua pay a high price, and the epilogue leaves their fates open.

Joshua passes his Eikon to Clive, Dion is dead and Clive absorbs Ultima before destroying Origin's Mothercrystal. A post-credits scene shows a peaceful family in a world with no magic.

What it means

The game ends with a choice for a future without the structures that divided people into those who could use magic and those who could not. Clive's journey moves from revenge to responsibility.
